By the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society (U.S.) Synopsis H. P. Lovecraft’s The Call of Cthulhu formed the foundation for the infamous Cthulhu Mythos and inspired generations of writers, musicians, filmmakers and gamers. Using their own mix of modern and vintage techniques dubbed “Mythoscope”, the filmmakers have created a faithful adaptation of Lovecraft’s globe-spanning tale of nameless cults, madness and horrors best left unimagined, brought to life in the style of a 1920’s silent movie.
